Wisdom from Parenthood

Real wisdom may not come from learning from your mistakes... but from realizing what your parents meant as you watch your children make the same mistakes.
Inspired by a recent episode of "Parenthood."

Sons on ebay

A couple of weeks ago, after my wife came back from dropping our nearly four year old sons off to pre-school, she looked at some bids on ebay.  She found a completed purchase that she hadn't bid for - more than 20 used wooden train set pieces - with shipping, more than $77 - coming from China!  Luckily, the seller was understanding and we could cancel the sale.

Our sons had ordered them on ebay through buy it now.  And they know the difference between a winning bid on an auction and a losing bid!

We have to be much more careful of the computer now - the boys are not even 4 and they do not even need us to maneuver around the computer - or to buy toys through it.

Helping my son's nightmare

My son Relic woke up with a bad dream last night saying that "the puppy couldn't walk".  He was very upset and scared.  Not sure what puppy he was worried about, but I reminded him about the puppies we saw jumping and playing at the mall in the pet store this past week and that they could all walk.  He fell asleep in my arms.
